NEET UG Medical / Dental Counseling is operated by the ACPUGMEC in the state of Gujarat - Admission Committee for Vocational Undergraduate / Postgraduate Medical Education Courses, Government of Gujarat.

Gujarat has 6 government medical colleges, 11 private medical colleges and 11 self-financed government medical colleges. In all, there are 1400 seats in all 6 government colleges, out of which 15% i.e. 210 seats go to AIQ (All India Quota) and the remaining 85% i.e. 1190 seats go for Medical Counseling in the state.

There are 1912 seats in 11 self-financed colleges, which are to be filled by the state and 1650 seats in 11 private medical colleges which are to be filled by the state.

In 2019, three rounds of counseling took place, Round 1 and Round 2 were conducted online, and MOP rounds were conducted offline.

                      CAREER MEDIA                            OBSERVATIONS

Gujarat is a closed state as per your selection. The full quota of seats is available to its domicile candidates and does not allow students from other states to participate in the counseling process. Because of this, a student can easily get a rank even when the rank is low. In addition, the state has the largest number of self-financed government medical colleges, which offer 1912 seats at an annual tuition fee limit of INR 12 lakh to 7.5 lakh, this creates more opportunities for students who do not secure higher ranks.

Under AIQ, it was much easier to get a government seat in state counseling, than to get a seat through MCC. This is shown by the example given below: - In a government college, the last seat offered for general category in AIQ was 4068 in MP Shah Medical College, on the other hand, in counseling the last seat allotted in the state. 30572 Rank in Government Medical College, Bhavnagar.

As the statistics vary from one round to another and as it is important to analyze the trend, we always recommend to explore opportunities by discussing your medical aspirations with our team.
