Karnataka NEET UG counseling is conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). It conducts counseling for government medical colleges as well as private medical colleges in the state. Counseling is for 85% seats in government medical colleges and 100% seats in private medical colleges.

Counseling is conducted in 4 stages. First Round, Second Round, Mop Round and Stray Round. The mop up round is a physical round and the streak round is the college round.

Karnataka is a reputed state for obtaining a medical degree. It is also an open state where students from other states can also take admission in medical colleges. This resulted in a huge competition for medical seats in Karnataka, especially among students from other states.

This competition can be seen in these numbers:

In 2019, KEA has applied for 3979 seats to 31087 Karnataka domicile students. And 50555 non-Karnataka students applied for 5055 seats for non-Karnataka students. This indicates increased competition levels. This represents a ratio of 8 Karnataka students for 1 seat and about 85 non-Karnataka students for 1 seat.

Many students are not aware that they are required to attend all rounds or which college they should apply to.

Here at Select Your University we have researched at extreme levels and promised to give you the seats that deserve you the proper knowledge and guidance for the admission process, and the rounds of counseling.

                                                KARNATAKA - MBBS Counselling Process

To go through the smooth counseling process without any problems, students are advised to follow the simple steps of the counseling process:

Candidates should first register with KEA.
After registration, visit the Document Verification Center to claim their eligibility.
Once eligibility is proved, candidates receive the secret key to activate their NEET UG counseling account for Karnataka state seats.
With this secret key, candidates can log into their accounts to check the seat matrix.
There will be a mock allotment for the students before filling the option as per their choice. After the mock allotment, students can fill their choice.
After the mock seat allocation, the window of modified options will be enabled. Candidates can change their choice for Round 1.
The seats are then allotted to the candidates according to marks, rank and cutoff.
If they accept the allotted seats, the candidates will have to report to the respective college.
If seats are not accepted, candidates can follow the next round.
