In total 31353 students, there was a huge competition for government seats, 3100 government seats were applied for. For 1 seat, a fight took place between 10 students.

Important information useful for medical candidates seeking seats in Tamil Nadu is as follows:

A student will not be allowed to participate in the later rounds if he or she misses in round 1 in any circumstances.
The state will prepare its merit list on the basis of NEET rank, in which people applying will be considered. Candidates are required to send a hard copy of their online filled in application form along with necessary attachments.
Obtaining a community certificate from Tamil Nadu is mandatory as certificates obtained from other states will be considered in the open category.
Self-financed government seats are available at a high fee structure, but only those students are allowed to attend whose parent's income is more than 2.5 lakhs per year for the entire category except for converting to Christianity. If the income of their parents is more than 2 lakhs then these candidates can apply.
