The governing body which conducts counseling for medical / dental is the WBMCC - West Bengal Medical Counseling Committee. In West Bengal, there are 18 government and 5 private medical colleges, with 2550 and 700 seats respectively. West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata administers admissions to state medical and dental colleges in West Bengal.

85% for the state government. Seats and 100% private seats, counseling is conducted. There were three rounds of counseling, first round, second round and mop round i.e. spot round or physical round. For the government. Seats are the only students who are domiciled in West Bengal. Fees will vary for domicile and non-domicile students, although private is open to all.

In 2019, physical verification of the documents was done and it is going to be the same in 2020.

                      CAREER MEDIA                            OBSERVATIONS

According to studies by Per CAREER MEDIA, in West Bengal, the demand is higher in Kolkata, while the cut off for government seats was at a moderate level.

In round 1, cut off under the state quota government. The seats for the general class were 32549 while in Round 2 it was 39200..

The cut-off under the AIQ is much higher than in the state, and so those who are seeking government seats in the WB should try through the state quota.

The cut off for non-domicile students on private medical seats was 39527 in Round 1 and 45464 in Round 2. The fees are higher for other state students. There was also a bond for the students.

We suggest that our medical candidates have to look at the total expenses and bond details per year before proceeding with filling the form.
