The governing body BCECEB (Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board) conducts Undergraduate Medical Admission Counseling (UGMAC) for 100% private seats of medical colleges and 85% of state quota government seats across the state.

The All India Quota AIQ consumes 15% of the government seat for which consultation is initiated through the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC).

After passing the NEET UG examination, students are eligible to participate in the counseling program. A student must secure 50% score (for general category) and 40% (OBC / ST & NT) in NEET UG exam.

There are 5 private medical colleges and 9 government medical colleges with 600 private seats and 1140 government seats allotted for the MBBS program.

According to the survey conducted by Career Medea, government medical colleges located in Muzaffarpur and Patna were preferred as the top ranked medical colleges in Bihar. While private medical colleges are slowly evolving.

From 2020, Private Medical College, Netaji Subhash Medical College and Hospital, Betla is going to start academic session with intake of 100 for MBBS program.

The observations made by Select Your University found variation in cut-offs in Round 1 and Round 2. The cut off is high in round 1 and it falls down in round 2.

        Eligibility For MBBS

  • NEET appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.

  • Applicants must be 10+2 passed from the recognized board or university with the subjects of physics, chemistry and biology.

  • The upper age limit is 25 years and the lower age limit is 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year of the admission process.

  • Only candidates qualifying NEET exam are eligible to apply for the program.

  • Candidates having Bihar domicile can apply from state quota.

                                              BIHAR- MBBS Counselling Process

  1. Step 1: Candidate needs to have a register on bceceboard.Bihar.gov.in

  2. Step 2: A list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the website.

  3. Step 3: The seat is allotted to a candidate based on the candidate’s rank, preference, institute cutoff ranks.

  4. Step 4: Candidates need to confirm their seats in respected allotted colleges or they can proceed to Round 2.

  5. Step 5: As per the schedules, seat allotments will be conducted.

  6. Step 6: Candidate needs to deposit security fees which are 2,00,000 for private MBBS medical college.
